The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, light creates shadows, the shadows of objects move with the sun, and light and shadow move together with time. Before mechanical clocks were invented, people judged time by the position of an object’s shadow in the sun. Then sundials were invented. A sundial is a tool that allows people to tell time by looking at the shadows of objects. With the help of photochromic paint, the time created by the change of light and shadow is transferred in a scientifically accurate formto the tablet commonly used in everyday life. The colour-changing effect of the Photochromic Paint enhances the interplay of light and shadow and draws attention to it. At the same time, it makes light and shadow appear to linger on the sonnet tray, demonstrating the continuity of the passage of time.
